Milan Fashion Week!

 

I haven't really got much to say today actually so I decided I'd post a picture via Look on Milan Fashion Week. It's so bad, my mind is so focused on AW11 now. I know all the trends and am planning for then when I've got shopping on Saturday so I think I'll just check out a few SS11 highlights on Youtube and be done with it!

Anybody else been following the Fashion Weeks? 

It's funny because I never knew there was so many!  Fur and snakeskin seem to be in, don't you think?

I've also been thinking alot about my future. Me and my mates were talking about it and alot of blogshops have been opening up lately and I dont know, I think I want to make some jewellery and sell them alongside t-shirts and whatnot, I might do it all over the Summer when I have loads of time then just sell boatloads via here and ebay. I've been focusing way to much on AW11 haha so they'd probably be for then. What do you think?

I like this outfit. It's like one of the outfits you can wear day and night and I just love getting my legs out and wearing skirts sometimes. My style is all button-up shirts and whatnot but with a little bit of girlish flair just so you don't get me mixed up with the lads and I pretty much think the whole outfit suits moi so I shall definitely be wearing more shorts and skirts and dresses and playsuits! 

I am going on a shopping spree next weeeeek! I know I've been banging on about it but Vintage Fair baby! I am like so excited but I don't know whether to go with my friends or not? If I go with them, I get all excited, buy everything, waste loads of money on food and get a little selfconscious if they don't like what I'm buying but if I don't...well I don't particularly mind. It'll be a bit lonesome but I just like to get things done and done properly, I'm a bit of a control freak like that. Like at school if we're set to do a team task, I'm normally the one who voices all the answers and eventhough, someone else is the leader, I always get my way somehow or another, though I like to be the leader but sort of feel bad when I'm dominating people because sometimes you can get so sensitive and whine to your mate and being in secondary school, there's just bound to be an argument over something silly like that. Gawsh that was a humungous sentence haha.

So, I'm guessing I'll mostly likely be going by myself but I'll remind my friends for good measure. I actually can't wait to do my first ever haul though just because I want to give my blog a bit more dimention and it'll be exciting for me and my followers/fellow bloggers! 

I think everyone is really into black and brown. I don't know how it got turned into a no-no. I think it's a bit like velvet which used to be a BIG no-no but as soon as those primark Sales got stuck in, we fell right in love with it and it's pretty much hot on trend for A/W11. I first got into it when I read Kayla Hadlington, probably one of the first blogs I ever started reading, actually it was! I was so in love with it from then and when I saw this top in hynotic, I nearly died and went to heaven. But having big buzzungas (I don't even think they're that big but obviously, my tops disagree) I had to return it twice and finally settled for a size 10. 

I used to be really self conscious about being a size 10 haha and used to buy everything in size 8 and convince myself that size 10 was such a baaad size. I think it's because everyone around me was quite slim though THANK GOD FOR THE HILLS! Sounds mad, right? I got comfy with my body from an episode of the hills? Yes, I can't remember what it was but yes, the hills saved my life and taught me that tight tops were not the most attractive of tops and how to dress for myself, not for the boys! Thank you Lauren Conrad! That reminds me that I need to stock up on her books for m big summer read. 

I would tell you more but I'm off to watch the next skins on 4od!

LONDON FASHION WEEK: MONDAY!

Monday was a good day. All the big shots were on yesterday and celebrities left, right and centre flew in for these shows, Burberry especially. Anna Wintour - Great Goddess of Fashion! - even came in to see it so there was definitely a hot crowd for these designers! 

First came Christopher Kane, known for his neon collection and cosmic clothing! I loved how his collection made me question everything a little bit. At first, I sort of got the impression of mermaids and water from the first photo. (Don't you think LFW designers have been taking on little characters or what!?)The waves and intricate patterning on that last dress looked beautiful and I sort of through of them as seaweed, especially on that second to last dres. There was a lot of v-necked dresses and I love that collared-dress two. Christopher's front-row featured Samantha Cameron so I wonder if she was as delighted as I am.

The music was one of the waltz, and the whole show looked quite big so I know there must've been loads of celebs when it came to Erdem. I loved his designs, that first velvet dress - I would wear to prom , hands down. The middle dress reminded me of a beautiful autumn sort of feeling and really, he pulled out of the bag! The whole collection was sexy. You may not see it there but it was very sexy. These just happened to be my favourites. I was going to put six - sexy included - but my stupid editor withheld me from doing so and I'm not really that tech savvy. The last outfit is wowza. I would wear that any day. I would wear the whole collection! It was dark, beautiful and a collection for a woman who doesn't give a fly-monkeys about fashion yet dresses oh-so-effortlessly. I loved it. I love him!

There was like about fifty-something pieces of clothing and I picked only about a fifth or a tenth, bloodyhell I'm sh*t at maths. Mind you I used to be a right mathematician back in the day. Anyway, back to this lurvely collection which thrived on military coats and co. At first, I didn't really like the show but then I watched the whole of it on Youtube and I found it amazing. Star-studded front row, Burberry did really impress. They had that little thing that Unique did yesterday with the blackandwhite so I definitely think that's something to watch out for. The first casual look, I liked and furry arms is a big hit for next it and loving it nearly as much as I love leather arms. They had coats in popping colours that'd make you stand out on a rainy day and God, I am definitely going to get myself one of those (not Burberry ofcourse, who can afford that!? but a knock-off atleast).

The show ended with the models in furry white hats and clear raincoats and don't they look good?

My one concern about the show was that the models looks really thin! Like most of the shows, I've seen weren't that bad as models are like size 6-8 but these girls were like, I don't know, maybe the coats emphasized how small they were but have a look at some of the collection and you'll see. I managed to pick some less skinnier models. To be totally honest though, I don't really think there's anything wrong with how models look, it's just when you see the ones that looks like twigs that make you a little bit queezy.

LONDON FASHION WEEK: SO FAR!

London Fashion Week is pretty much everywhere right now. You can not get away from it and as much as you probably want to haha, I just have to blog about it! It's like absolutely epic right now. I'm so sad that I can't even be there because it looks that good. The LOOK show looked amazing but unluckily, I didn't win a ticket so I didn't go!!! But I thought I'd just give you and myself a little update of LFW so far and what the hottest trends are for A/W11.

 On Friday, we saw Sass & Bide do their thing with vibrant colours and all in all a fun experience when it came to clothing. Their music choice saw models walking in on a Asian, tropical beat and set the mood perfectly for the fashion "warriors". Sass & Bide's collection is very much looking like a SS11 collection but I guess since it's an Australian label, it would be sunny and hot in Australia. The tribal prints were all over the models and most of their shoes consisted of what the first model is wearing. In the middle we see a bit of camel there which has been on-trend for a while now so I can definitely see it coming through to A/W11! 

 Then Saturday came and boy did Mama said there'd be days like this! His collection is kooky, interesting and just plain, ole fun. I love how it was very much wearable from my view point and there was a lot of collars. I say my view point because I'm very into that boyish-girl-that-still-looks-like-a-girl-look. The midi skirts and 70's flare, I loved it. I also love that scarf/belf combination. I've seen people do it before but I've never tried it and with those awesome prints, I think anyone would look hawt in that! His Tee's as always were cutting edge and very much inyourface. It's a very british collection without actually featuring the Union Jack. If I were you I would definitely go have another look at this. 

Also on the Saturday, we saw Jonathan Saunders take the stage with his very ladylike collection. Some males were featured in it but I really liked how neat this collection is. Every piece infact. I think he was going very much for the classy with a twist sort of theme. All of it was very much collars and seeing that in Henry Holland, I think that's going to be a big hit in A/W11, I must say and I'm excited because that's basically, like I said before, my sort of realm when it comes to clothig. The geometric patterning on some of the clothes was phenomenal and I think he is pretty much all about patterns and prints. The shoes Jordan Dunn is wearing there, if you can just see them, are actually one of my favourites! So shoes are looking pretty good too. 

Before I start, I have to say, these models are gorgeous! Next is even though you can't see, they came out of a little English countryside hedge there which was rather strange but fittted in very much with the design aestetic that the lovely Emma Hill (Creative Director of Mulberry) had in mind since it was inspired by Mr. Fox. 

Now Mulberry and their bags have been all over the fashion industry and all over the blogging one too! People pretty much adore them and to see their designs, I love it. All of it was pretty much very wearable! I mean, any girl would die to be put in any of these clothes and I think the models really relate to that sort of average girl look, if you get what I mean because most people think the average girl is boring plain jane. Well guess what, plain jane is an utter fashionista and these are the clothes she wants to be seen in. I know without doubt all the high street is going to be doing replicas of this collection and I would be too! The last dress especially. It's a birdie print all over and with Miu Miu being a hit, this sure will be too and I can already see duplicates of that lilac collar dress. All in all, I am pretty much amazed by Mulberry and their Sunday presentation! 

Last but definitely not least, Unique Topshop everyone and they definitely were unique. The models hair, they looked like little puppydogs glamourously sauntering down the runway! I got the feeling from the start that it was very Cruella Deville here and I loved it! I can see camel and fur and maybe a little bit of velvet are all going to be in A/W11! It's a delight actually that I won't be having to buy as much as I thought I needed to but that first girl with her collared printed shirt and leather midi-skirt. She looks the bomb! I fell in love with that dress in the middle as soon as I saw it. Effortlessly beautiful. The camel/mustard/tobacco - don't really know what colour it is actually - dress with those shimmery tights and white shoes, love it. Can't forget the dalmation with it's little red bow tie. So cute! 

To be honest with you, London Fashion Week looks amazing these are just a few of the the designers! I was surprised about how much I love Mulberry and can't wait to blog about Today's shows and possibly tommorrows.

Zara!

Zara S/S11 campaign

I used to think that Zara was a bit of an older 35+ shop whenever I went into it when I was younger but seeing their online store, I know it's not. I think that it is definitely more of an elegant, chic store and it's very much for the classier lady but I think the stylish youth of this day are definitely latching onto some of the pretty, casual pieces that Zara has to offer. 

Just browsing through the online store, I saw chinos and a 50's style wool skirt. I love the skirt! It looks like something I could wear on a lazy day in or I could even dress it up and wear it on a lazy day out to town haha, there are so many different ways to wear it, same with the chinos which I very on trend where I am right no. People seem to be loving them and just saying "chinos" makes us feel effortlessly stylish. They've styled it well aswell (bit of a mouthful there, eh?) with the leopard print loafers that I'm sure you'll find some similar flats for like 2/4 quid at Primark. They're not that expensive either, all under a tenner which is pretty much as high as I'll go! Okay, maybe a little bit higher for something I really want like those ~~***##leather shorts##***~~ lmao. Yes, I'm mad. Though, do check out Zara's Sales section if you are looking for a bargain.

Seeing Zara's S/S11 campaign though, I think they sort of are looking towards the elegant, older buyer which doesn't seem to be many teens. If you compare their campaign to Primark's or Topshop's, it's totally different, no? Much more understated and very...classy, yes, classy is a word that seems to pop up into my mind alot! And you can sort of tell by the model too. Zara's seem to be much more edgy whilst if you go on to Topshop (just using them as an example) their models are always quite pretty and younger. 

I love the orange trousers. Talking about it again, the colors that sort of pop out (I must go on style.com and find out the proper word for this haha) are very on trend and I love how the other pieces of clothing are quite muted so they sort of let the trousers speak for themselves. 

The leather skirt and white blouse are something I'd definitely imagine any fashionista wearing and I think I might actually get myself a leather skirt from Tesco. Funny, eh? You'd never imagine getting something like that from Tesco but they are ultra cheap and and stylish too. Not to mention they at the official sponsor of London Fashion Week so you are in good hands! 

The suit is something I really liked aswell. It's the first picture and by God, it'd make me look so fricking amazing if I wore out. Whether I'd wear the whole suit or just the blazer is another question but I really am loving it! 

Lastly, the contrasting dress that has that minimalist trend going on is very lovely indeed. Some black accents here and there and you've got a fine little outfit going on, haven't ya? 

All in all, Zara is definitely an online store I'm loving at the moment, once I've stopped saving, this online store will most definitely be my next stop. Or maybe I'll pop into the one in Birmingham though when I went to one in London, it was not at all that satisfying.

I Want it! You Want it! We all Want it!

001. Leopard print wedges. I saw a girl wearing some today and it just sparked my want for some all over again. I want some so badly, it's actually unbelieveable! They look so fierce and I think once I've got some long hair going on, I'll really be able to work with them! These ones aren't the exact type I want but that's something along the lines. They're £50 on ebay which is quite expensive though, I'm sure I'll fine a cheaper version, I usually always do haha.

002. Leather shorts. I need these. I'm going to get some when I go to Vintage Fair in March but gosh, they are just so, phwoar! They are just as fierce as the leopard print wedges. I could pair them with a nice blouse and brogues and they'd make it just have that little bit more of an umph or for a party I could wear one of those rocker graphic tees and have a nice studded purse in hand. They're pretty much number one of the list of things I want. If I can bag some for under £20 at the VF or in Brimingham when I go then I will be such a happy woman. There are alot of them around but they are short! I really want some that aren't that short. I know LLYMLRS got some cute ones before from Primark but Primark's shorts seem to be so short. If they were just an inch longer!

003. Colour blocking and that minimalistic look is very in. Jil Sander definitely took it away when it came to that area of look and I think those popping sort of colours are exactly what we all need to be wearing this S/S11. I, personally, would love to have this dress though as it'd look lovely for Summer, nice and effortless but I'm weary whether it'll look a bit like I have noshape if you get what I mean? + I don't know what I'd wear it with haha! I just w=know that I Want it!

004. Paris! When I typed it into google a few dodgy pictures of Paris Hilton came up lmao but my parents have promised me a trip abroad for my sixteenth and although, I'd love to go to New York, my heart lies in the beautiful stylish city of Paris. Next year, October, mind you but a girl can always plan ahead!
